Cory Aadland, CMAA, explains that to be an effective leader, you need values, principles, and a vision statement. He describes how they have taken those concepts and turned them into a conviction with the creation of the K.E.R.N.A.L.S. Coin. This is a challenge coin that has the school logo on the front and a list of the program's core values on the back. The coins are presented to student-athletes who represent these core values and will help coaches promote values, as reinforcing good behavior assists in that behavior being repeated.
