Jim McClowry explains his onboarding musts regarding bringing new coaches up to speed, being organized, and saving time. He is email-ready, which prevents him from constantly needing to draft new emails to coaches. He has his coaching mentors ready to assist new coaches and a bank of free and purchased NFHS classes for the new coaches to utilize. He uses "hafta meets" to ensure new coaches meet everybody, specifically administrators and key personnel that will help the new coaches get off on the right foot. He has a follow-up/check-in process that involves a time frame for scheduled meetings and the topics that will be discussed.

Todd Clark explains that sometimes the word 'sportsmanship' is tiring, and he will discuss some initiatives to help make it fun. He recommends a student committee to help provide peer leadership, student theme nights, having incentives for students and adults for positive support, creating a sportsmanship video to be posted on social media, displays and monitors, and providing a welcome committee for opponents and game officials.

Todd Clark explains that sportsmanship is not just during games anymore, but also before and after games based on social media. He cites a psychological study that states posting on social media increases self-esteem but also a loss of control and masking of personas. The study indicated that 23% of teens have been cyber-bullied and this is becoming a serious issue with athletes.
